House Rules
Last updated 2026.
The short version: don't cheat, don't be cruel to other players, and remember that inside the game, the island itself is not always kind. The longer version is below. These rules sit alongside our Terms of Service, which cover the legal side of the same ground.
Code of conduct
Play how you like — ruthless or generous, solitary or deep in a consortium. Treat other players the way you'd want to be treated outside the game:
- No harassment, threats, hate speech, or targeted pile-ons in chat, messages, or park names.
- No impersonating staff, other players, or the game's own systems.
- Keep park names, dinosaur names, and consortium names within the same filter — if it wouldn't fly as a username, it won't fly here either.
- Report problems instead of retaliating in kind. Staff can see further than chat logs.
Chat and names are filtered automatically, and reports are reviewed by a real person. Violations can mean a mute, a suspension, or a ban, scaled to how serious and how repeated the behavior is.
One account per person
Play one park. Creating additional accounts to evade a ban, farm rewards meant for new players, manipulate rankings or the market against yourself, or split a single strategy across multiple logins is multi-accounting, and it's not allowed. We log signup and login information specifically to catch this — it's usually easy to spot from the outside even when it feels invisible from the inside.
No bots, no real-money trading
Automating play — scripts, macros, or anything that clicks the game for you — is not allowed, with one exception: the island's own rival parks. Every park you compete against that you didn't personally create is run by our systems, not by another player, and that's by design, not a secret (see below). Buying, selling, or trading accounts, currency, or items for real money outside anything we explicitly offer is also against the rules, for the same reason it's against the rules in most games: it turns a level playing field into a pay-to-skip one.
The island plays rough
This is a game about running a dinosaur park, and dinosaur parks are dangerous. Breakouts happen. Animals you've raised for months can die from neglect, disease, or a storm you didn't prep for. The Bureau can fine you, shut you down, or worse if you cut corners. Rushes let another consortium take a dig site you've held for weeks. None of this is a bug, and none of it will be undone as a courtesy — the tension of "you built this, and you can lose it" is the point. Plan, prepare, and insure accordingly.
The world includes ambient parks
Not every park you see on the leaderboards, at a dig site, or across a trade table belongs to a real player. The Cinnabar Archipelago is populated with a number of ambient, system-run parks that dig, trade, breed, and build alongside everyone else, so the island feels alive even when human traffic is light. They follow the same rules and the same market as real players — no special pricing, no unfair advantages — but they aren't people, and we want that stated plainly rather than left for you to guess.
Enforcement
Depending on what happened, we may filter or hide a message, issue a temporary mute, apply a temporary suspension, or permanently ban an account. Serious or repeated violations (real- money trading, harassment, exploiting bugs for gain) tend toward the harsher end; we'll always try to match the response to the behavior.
